The Sunshine Coast International Fashion Festival is set to host its 12th annual event in 2019.

Established in 2008, the event came about by accident. Founder and Director, Jacinta Richmond, was asked by two local designers if she would organise a high Summer fashion parade for them. The Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival was born and quickly took on a life of it's own. Due to international interest in the event, it changed it's name briefly in 2012 and 2013 before morphing into the Sunshine Coast International Fashion Festival.

As the event grew, it travelled to different locations across the Sunshine Coast. Venue size within the region saw the event outgrow everywhere it went. Large front of house venues were met with tiny back of house space. And vice versa. In 2018, the decision was made to downsize audience numbers in exchange for a venue that offered everything else.

Considered one of the most prestigious events on the Australian Fashion Calendar, the Sunshine Coast International Fashion Festival is known for hosting a full fashion week in just 24 hours including; catwalk showcase, industry events, seasonal awards and trade opportunities for labels direct to the industry and public.
